Carlist.my’s Finders Keepers Contest Winner Drives Home a Pre-loved Perodua Kelisa!

Hunting for a car is not as tough as it sounds; at least not for one lucky winner. Malaysia’s No.1 car site, Carlist.my, recently crowned the winners for its Finders Keepers contest.
In celebrating the achievement of more than 100,000 listings of cars for sale, Carlist.my gave away its car through a ‘treasure hunt’ contest in appreciation to the public’s contribution to the success of Carlist.my.
The prize giving ceremony was held at Carlist.my’s corporate office on 19th April, where the Grand Prize winner, Mr. Andrew Shim walked away with a preloved Perodua Kelisa. The prize giving ceremony was attended by friends and families of the top 10 Finders Keepers winners and Carlist.my’s personnel, including the CEO of iCarAsia, Damon Rielly.
“We are so glad the car went to a deserving family. Andrew did not only find the correct car listing during the 3 weeks contest, his entry was also sincere, extremely witty and engaging.” said Mr. Rielly.
The Winners and Prizes
The top 10 entrants were rewarded that day, with the Grand Prize winner, Andrew Shim, driving home a 2004 Perodua Kelisa. The rest of the contest winners received a 3 months subscription of EVO and Live Life Drive magazines and a whole lot of Carlist.my’s merchandise.
Andrew Shim, the Grand Prize winner revealed, “The poem written was actually our life story. We’re really struggling with our 15 year old car. We even had to park our car at Kelana LRT station and take the LRT here to collect our prize because we were worried our car wouldn’t be able to make it here in one piece. This Kelisa from Carlist.my is really a blessing to our family. Thank you Carlist.my!”

Little family with little car,
Going places near and far,
When little car was new, people say "Waaahh"
Now they look and say "Can still jalan ah?"
Time went by, fifteen years later,
Dashboard say half-million kilometer,
Now little car like me, so old,
Wifey says we "shake, rattle and roll"
Everyday still work like crazy,
Cannot retire, got no money,
To buy second car, can only dream Lambo-jini,
"Never mind lor... Got little car, just be happy"...
Problem is son and me like hippo,
When see food cannot say no..
When we get in, little car say "Aiyoh"
Tekan and tekan, little car still go slo-mo...
Drive shaft koyak, air con hot,
Absorber kaput, alarm shot.
Little car gets bullied on the road a lot,
Never mind... little car is all we got.
Whether dry and hot, or wet and chilly,
Little car still runs faithfully,
Shaky and noisy, but slowly and surely,
Little car carries us happily.
We suffer when little car get sick,
Only one happy - Ah Long, my mechanic,
But have to keep little car running healthily
Coz little car is part of our family...
Today, little family sooo busy-lah...
Running around like we crazy .... aaaargh!!!
Fetch here, fetch there can really go gila,
How nice if little car can potong dua or tiga.
But wait! Can get help-mate for little car,
Carlist so kind, want to give Kelisa...
But die... to win must be creative ah?...

The Carlist.my Finders Keepers contest ran from 6 March to 31 March 2013. During the contest period, three clues were given out weekly on Carlist.my’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Carlist.my) for participants to find the exact car on Carlist.my. Chosen winners were based on those who got the listing right and submitted the best slogan on why they deserve to walk away with the car.
