Georg Chmiel

Independent, non-executive Director and executive Chairman

Georg Chmiel has over 23 years of experience in the financial services industry, online media and real estate industry. Until September 2016, Georg was Managing Director and CEO of iProperty Group, Asia’s number one online property group, operating in seven countries across Asia.

Previously, Georg was Managing Director and CEO of LJ Hooker Group with 700 offices across nine countries providing residential and commercial real estate as well as financial services. Before that, Georg held the position of CFO and General Manager International at REA Group Ltd (ASX:REA) and was instrumental in building a solid platform for expansion which allowed exponential growth. With companies such as Deutsche Bank and McKinsey & Company, Georg has also built his expertise in the area of strategy, innovative technologies, distribution and corporate finance with a clear focus on growth companies and disruptive technologies.

Georg is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Georg is also a Non-executive Director of Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF) and Chief Financial Officer of iflix Group.


Patrick Grove

Non-independent, non-executive Director

Board member and Chairman since June 2012. Mr Grove is a co-founder of iCar Asia. Mr Grove’s experience and expertise include mergers and acquisitions and extraction of investment value in high growth, media, new media and technology environments.

Mr Grove has built a number of significant media and internet businesses across Asia and has taken three businesses from start up to initial public offer. He has been independently recognised with numerous international awards, including as a Global Leader of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum (2001), a New Asian Leader by the World Economic Forum (2003), the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Singapore, Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2004) and Business Week’s Best Young Asian Entrepreneurs (2008). Mr Grove is also the Chief Executive Officer of Catcha Media, the major shareholder of iCar Asia, as well as Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and major shareholder of Catcha Group, one of South East Asia’s most dynamic new media groups. Mr Grove is also the Deputy Chairman of iProperty, an ASX listed company.

Mr Grove has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting and Finance from the University of Sydney.


Lucas Elliott

Non-independent, non-executive Director

Board member since April 2012. Mr Elliott is a co-founder of iCar Asia. He has over 13 years of Asian online experience, with a focus on developing fast moving online business models and monetising online media assets. Mr Elliott is also a co-founder of Catcha Group, where he is responsible for all aspects of Catcha Group’s corporate finance activities, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and public listings. Mr Elliott is also a director of iProperty.

Mr Elliott has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance from the University of Sydney.


Khalil Ibrahim

Independent, non-executive Director, Chair of Nomination and Remuneration Committee

Khalil has extensive experience in the Automotive industry and is currently the Managing Director and controlling shareholder of SISMA Auto (a dealer group representing Jaguar Land Rover in Malaysia). He also is also a Director in Jaguar Land Rover (Malaysia), the sole importer and distributor for Jaguar Land Rover in Malaysia. Prior to that, Khalil worked with the Boston Consulting Group at their Sydney and New York offices.

Khalil holds bachelors degrees in Commerce (Majoring in Finance) and Engineering (Majoring in Mechanical Engineering). He studied at the University of Western Australia and University of California, Berkeley.


Richard David Kuo

Independent, non-executive Director, Chair of Audit and Risk Committee

Richard is the co-founder and CEO of Pier Capital, a boutique investment banking firm. He is the chairman of Juwai Holdings Limited – the largest online property platform in China, SCEGGS Darlinghurst Limited – a private school for girls in Sydney, and has been a director of a range of companies in the technology, pharmaceutical, financial and not-for-profit sectors.  Previously, Richard practiced as a lawyer specialising in corporate law in a large national law firm before moving into investment banking and then as a member of the senior management team of one of Australia’s largest software companies.


Peter Dobie Everingham

Independent, non-executive Director

Peter is an experienced executive and non executive director of digital and technology businesses having worked in the sector for over 19 years.  Up until December, 2016, Peter was Managing Director of SEEK Limited’s International Division which includes their online businesses in China, Hong Kong and South East Asia.  He led the merger of JobStreet and JobsDB in Asia based out of Kuala Lumpur and he continues to be Chairman of SEEK’s business in China called Zhaopin.  Peter joined SEEK in 2005 and was a member of their Executive Team.  He was a non executive director of their joint ventures, IDP Education and Online Education Services.  Prior to SEEK, Peter was Director of Strategy for Yahoo! in Australia and South East Asia which included investing in Australia’s leading online car classifieds business, carsales.  Peter is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, GAICD, he has an MBA from IESE and a Bachelor of Economics from The University of Sydney.


James Anthony Olsen

Non-independent Alternate Director for Lucas Elliott

Jamie Olsen is a seasoned technology corporate advisor and investor. He is the founder and managing director of CMB Capital, an advisory and investor to emerging technology companies. He has previously held roles in the TMET industry group at Macquarie Capital and the Enterprises Division at Nine Entertainment Co (then Publishing and Broadcasting Limited) as well as investment banking roles with Citigroup and Ord Minnett Corporate Finance.  Jamie has advised major, blue chip Australian and international listed and unlisted corporations and raised over A$100 million in emerging Australian and global technology businesses. Jamie is a Board Observer for Catcha Group Sdn Bhd where is currently employed as a senior advisor.
